Guess who officially has two rising ninth graders and two college seniors? This mom! (Caro graduates in December with a double major; Caleb graduates in May 2024.) So excited for summer!

I have gone to two sporting events in the past week and both times I asked in the car, “Sooo, are we thinking we’ll stay for the whole thing?” Thankful that the Barnett family didn’t toss me from the car on the way to Atlanta—and that Bryan didn’t mind that I cheered for both teams (I wore a UGA shirt & LSU jacket—I refuse to choose!)

Writing update: my book proposal for “Chalkboard

Writing update: my book proposal for “Chalkboard Triage” has been accepted by a couple of hybrid publishers! I hope to finish the manuscript by the end of December. Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me to finally write this book!

Feeling like a lucky mama: we got to watch Caro run in the Twilight 5K on Saturday morning and qualify for the super fast mile downtown that night. It was also her sorority’s “mom-daughter weekend” here in Athens, so I had some extra time with my sweet Caroline!

I do love to watch this girl run. At the Athens area meet today, KD won the 100m & 200m races & her relay team won the 4x100m! I would block my voice if I knew how—but then y’all couldn’t hear me yelling “She’s coming” for absolutely no reason.

Today is the day that our family celebrates “Hom

Today is the day that our family celebrates “Home Day”—the joyful day we got to bring these precious girls home from the hospital! So thankful, today and always, for KD & E. I feel weepy every April 12th—it was a day that changed Bryan & I especially—for the better. I’m so grateful that God brought the six of us together to create this big, loving, messy and fierce family.

Our family video for February was a whole lot of celebrating—and more of me (& Bryan, but mostly me) than usual. It was a great birthday month!

It’s track season, y’all! In her first meet, K

It’s track season, y’all! In her first meet, KD won the 100m (me stopping my filming for no reason before the end of the race and yelling “go” to a kid who was clearly already going 🤦‍♀️). Bryan filmed the 200m race (calmly & like the pro that he is.) KD is in lane 2 and won that race as well! This is going to be so much fun!!
